The Terps will host their first series of 2015 far away from the friendly confines of Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium. However, the Terps will play in a beautiful new facility, just a year old, and our own John Vittas will make the trip to deliver your play-by-play coverage. Friday’s game will start at 6pm, Saturday will feature a 4pm start, and Terps will wrap things up Sunday with a 12pm first pitch.
Lake Point sports complex is located just 30 minutes from Atlanta opened last spring, and was built as a destination for travel sports tournaments. The 1,300-acre sports park has fields for baseball, softball, soccer, and lacrosse, in addition to volleyball courts, a wake park, a track and field complex, a golf academy and much more. And perhaps most importantly for the Terps, the weekend outlook for Atlanta has temperatures in the low to mid 50s.
Also note that Tuesday’s home opener against VCU has been postponed to a later date TBD.
