LOS ANGELES – The Terps’ got a crucial 3-1 win over Ole Miss Friday. Here were the highlights:
Ole Miss win notes:
Maryland pitching did not allow a hit after the first inning, striking out 15 Rebels in the process.
The Terps’ tied the school record for wins in a season, picking up win No. 40. The record was set last year.
Mike Shawaryn is the first Maryland pitcher with 24 career wins. Kevin Mooney is the first Maryland pitcher with 31 career saves.
The Terrapins have now won four straight regional games, dating back to last year.

UCLA defeated Cal State Bakersfield 7-2 last night in Los Angeles, meaning the Terps will play the top-seeded Bruins on their home field tonight at 11pm. ET
“It’s awesome,” acting head coach Jim Belanger said. “This is what you play in the postseason for. At the end of the day, we got to do our job – throw strikes, get a good start, make plays and get some timely hits. If you do that in the postseason, you have a chance to beat anyone.”
