The Terps are coming off a solid series win over Bryant University – but it wasn’t impressive enough to convince any pollers among the collegiate baseball community. The Terps are currently unranked in every poll as they sit below .500 with a 7-8 mark. USA Today, the one site where Maryland was receiving votes, had not updated its poll for a month until now. The Terps are no longer there.
One upcoming opponent on the West Coast tour is Cal State Fullerton. The Titans are ranked 24 on the NCBWA Poll and 23 on the D1Baseball.com Poll. The Bryant Bulldogs are receiving votes on the NCBWA, but are not ranked. The Terps’ first Big 10 opponent in the Iowa Hawkeyes is unranked in all polls. In fact, there isn’t one Big 10 team inside the top ten across all of the polls.
As of now, the Terps will have to wait until the final series of the year for their first ranked Big 10 opponent – the Michigan State Spartans.
