The Terrapins fell three spots this week to number seven in the Big 10, after giving up two of three weekend games to the third place Minnesota Golden Gophers. However, the Terps remain over .500, with a 5-4 record in the Big 10 and a 19-17 record overall.
There are no mid-week games scheduled this week, so the Terps will have a break before they welcome Purdue to Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium for a three-game series starting Friday. The Boilermakers are in last place in the Big 10, with a 1-11 conference record. They are 5-27 overall.
The Terps moved up 2 spots in the RPI rankings, from 39 to 37. They are still unranked in all the other polls, and did not receive any votes. Purdue is also unranked, and is number 266 in RPI.
